Children in the Prima Casa classrooms are between the ages of 2.5 and 4 years and should be ready and working on toilet training. Younger children challenge themselves by relating to older students, and the older students have the opportunity help the younger ones. As with our Toddler programme, both half day (8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) and full day programmes (8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.) are available.
Giving Curious Minds a Place to Learn and Grow
Our Prima Casa classrooms are filled with a broad range of carefully prepared and attractive learning materials. These materials are divided into five major areas of curriculum: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language and Culture. In addition, the children have daily French and weekly visits from our music and physical education specialists.
Prima Casa children have the freedom to choose from demonstrated activities and may repeat or extend these activities independently or in small groups. Teachers offer careful guidance so that students balance their choices from all areas of the curriculum. This individualized approach enables children to be actively involved in a process that lays the foundation for good work habits, a positive self-image, and a confident, self-motivated attitude toward future learning experiences.
Full-day Prima Casa children have a nap or quiet time scheduled into their daily routine. Many transitional Montessori materials are found in the Prima Casa classrooms.
