Children in our Toddler programme range in age from 18 months to 2.5 years of age. They may participate in either five half day mornings or five full days a week. The half day programme runs 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the full day programme from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. We are a licensed child care facility registered with the Ministry of Education and in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act.
Giving Curious Minds a Place to Learn and Grow
Our Toddler classroom is filled with a variety of carefully prepared and attractive learning materials. These materials are specially selected with our smallest students’ abilities, interests, and safety in mind. There are many purposeful activities which build independence and attention, and allow for the development of both small and large motor skills. The goal of our Toddler programme is to provide the spark needed to allow our youngest students to grow and develop a love of learning.
We consider the Toddler classroom to be an extension of the home environment and provide activities and tasks they see their families do on a daily basis. Toddler children are welcome to choose from a variety of activities on their classroom shelves. They receive gentle guidance from their teachers as they develop a sense of belonging and independence. As language development is an important part of the Toddler experience, the practical life activities create opportunities to build vocabulary and age-appropriate expression skills.
After a busy morning of activities, the full day programme supports the toddler’s need for an assisted lunch, sleep period, healthy afternoon snack, and learning opportunities that include outdoor play activities.
