Montessori Teachers

The greatest sign of success for a teacher… is to be able to say, ’The children are now working as if I did not exist.

Dr. Maria Montessori

Montessori trained teachers, together with their registered early childhood educators or Montessori assistants, are the dynamic link between the prepared environment and the children. At SMS, each class is led by a certified and accredited Montessori teacher whose primary role is to direct the child’s natural energy and provide a programme that meets the social and academic needs of each individual student. The teachers achieve this through keen observation, knowledge, and experience drawn from their training. Through ongoing participation in courses and workshops, the staff and administration keep abreast of current education theories and methods and provide an informative communication link between home and school.

Igniting Curious Minds

The school adheres to heath, safety and fire regulations, and has a Board School Identification Number (BSID) with the Ministry of Education. The Toddler programme is a licensed child care facility in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act. Annual reviews of policies and procedures ensures our staff are knowledgeable and prepared to handle any situation. All staff hold current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR-C and have current Criminal Reference Check.

Our faculty teach an authentic Montessori curriculum from Toddler (18 months) through Grade 8. In order to meet the individual needs of each student and maintain the effectiveness of our programme, we also believe flexibility is required.
